An e-mail from Dilnaz..

I saved a pup last week from being run over by a rickshaw, and he's currently living with me. However, I'm unable to keep him at my house as I already have 2 dogs who absolutely hate him & live in a 1BHK. Could you please help me look for a good home for him.

I have attached his photos to help you further. Looking forward to a positive response from you.

PS : He's been named Bruce. I have already dewormed him, & will even have him vaccinated soon.

Thanking you in advance,

Eight adorable pups for adoption

When chocolate makers, Meher Pinto and her daughter Ghazala spotted a new dog in their neighborhood, under their building, they realized that she was pregnant. They named her Babli and took her into their home temporarily so that she can be comfortable during her pregnancy. Not only did Babli live like a queen, she gave a litter of eight princes and princesses which are what we would call bonnie babies.

They are now a month and a half .The pups are of all colors. Black and white, brown, creamish and some look so identical that it is difficult to tell who is who. Meher and Gazala are looking for good homes for these chubby, healthy, bubbly and energetic pups. Here are their pictures. Do spread the word around. Babli in the mean time prances in and out of their house and would be sterilized as soon as she is ready to be. Call 23868240/23874099. E-mail : ghazala@chocaffaires.com

Update: Seven pups have got good home, one to go...

'Maya' jaal

Maya is a Labrador puppy living in a building alley in South Mumbai. She is around five months old. Though she is looked after well by her owners, we feel that she would be prone to ailments on the street because of her breed. Her owners have always kept strays and now realize that it would be better for her that she goes into a home.

Maya is very friendly, playful, healthy and generally very spoilt. She is also taken by her owners for car rides and loves the air-conditioning in the car. She has been vaccinated by us and is looking for a good home and as loving owners as she has now.

If you want to be mesmerized by her "Maya"jaal, call WSD on 64222838 or e-mail wsdindia@gmail.com
Update : Maya Has been adopted

Little Zeezu

An e-mail from Chantal Norton about Zeezu

She is about 5 or 6mths old now, house trained, and en route to being obedience trained. So far she is good with 'sit', 'lie down', still working on 'stay' and 'come' cos she gets distracted easily cos she is still a pup, and she has not quite got the knack of 'drop' when asked to dropped the ball in a game of throw and retrieve.
Also knows not to go in the kitchen or jump on furniture and doesn't chew chappels anymore either!!!She is extremely friendly and gets on well with other dogs. Ideally we'd like to find her a nice home with people who love dogs. She is not at all traffic savvy though, she has not figured out that cars can hurt, she is walked on the leash because she would run the risk of being hit by a car otherwise.

I've attached some photos, please could you circulate these to any interested people. They can either call my flatmate Reshma on 9820226364 (speaks hindi) or myself on 9833439030 (my hindi is not so good)

Do spread the word about Zeezu.

Pups for Adoption

An e-mail received by WSD for four pups which are for adoption.

Hi my name is Sushma. I have attached the pictures of 4 stray puppies from my building. They are one and a half months old.

Their mother died about 2 days ago. I have been feeding them uptil now, but my fear is I dont know how long they will survive cos puppies in my building rarely survive cos they get run over by a car or get attacked by the other bigger dogs in my colony, when i am working during the day.

If you know anyone who would be interested in adopting them, please let me know. I live in Andheri.W.

This my mobile number: 9820820450

Regards,
Sushma Thomas

Please spread the word so that these pups get good homes.

Latte or Choti

She is a shy dog and was brought from the airport by the BMC. She has a beautiful, slightly hairy white coat with brown patches on the body and face. She is around nine months old. She got two names as her brown color reminds you of a Cafe Latte and as she is also small and so was called Choti.

Update : Latte has been adopted

Monty

Monty was named by the visiting sixth graders from The American School. In addition he can claim some name to fame as a model for the Time Out Magazine in their Kids Issue cover story. Monty is a handsome dog, very likeable and very good with children.

This ginger kitten is around four months old. He was found by a cat lover in a shriveled state outside the Chimanlals footpath in Fort and was left to die with bubblegum purposely stuck to him all over his body by some cruel person. The bubblegum was removed by us in over a week but he got ‘stuck’ with the name. Bubblegum is a very healthy, calm and an affectionate kitten and misses her friend ‘Bravo’ who was adopted into a very loving home. He has beautiful, big ginger eyes that you will fall in love with.

Danny and Ronnie

Danny

Both have similar stories and looks, making you wonder if they were twins(not identical) lost in a Mela aka Bollywood. But alas, both were abandoned in two different parts of Mumbai City.

Ronnie was thrown out of a car at Cuffe Parade one evening and Danny was found abandoned near the Lokhandwala mangroves at Andheri.

Danny is white hairy male, Corgi-ish short and has been sterilized and vaccinated against 7-in-one and rabies. He is very playful and sweet but does not like other dogs or children very much.

Ronnie on the other hand is much younger around less than a year. He is also white with a grayish path on his face. He is very loving and will do ‘namaste’ to you if you come to meet him. Ronnie is shorter like a Corgi than an average dog. He too has been sterilised and vaccinated.

Ronnie

Do call WSD on 64222838 or e-mail wsdindia@gmail.com , if you know any one looking to adopt these dogs.
UPDATE: DANNY AND RONNIE HAVE BEEN ADOPTED

Abandoned pup requires a home

A female pup was found abandoned by a family at Versova. They just left her tied to a cycle in the building compound and went out of town. WSD volunteer Kunal Kocchar rescued her and took her home. He already has a male pup 'Bozo' and can't keep her.

Please call Kunal on 9833484026 or e-mail him at the5thstring@gmail.com or call WSD on 64222838 or e-mail wsdindia@gmail.com

Here is Kunal's message

So I went, hoping to reason with the abusers. They've happily gone out of town for two days leaving the pup chained to an old bike. She was aggressive with me at first, but after five minutes was all 'puppy-like', playful and sweet. The owner is going to give me her vaccination papers on Saturday. Hope something works out soon. My little house is full of action right now, as you can imagine, what with Bozo and this little pup.
